Travel To The Best Of Costa Rica!! Don't Be Fooled

Everything you must know about this magnificent country.

  • 10 things you MUST do & NOT do in Costa Rica:
  1. Try Gallo Pinto; you can’t set foot in the country without tasting the Costa Rican famous rice and beans.
  2. Don't stay at an International chain Resort;  Costa Rica is full of economic lodges and houses. These often have more charm than the familiar chains do, and will give you a more authentic experience on your vacation.
  3. Don't fall for Parking Lot scams; Check for yourself that the main lot is full before falling for a more expensive one.
  4. Go ziplining; You really can’t visit Costa Rica and not zipline since they are world famous for their rides with spectacular views.
  5. Surf; The waves here are some of the best in Latin America. Some of the best beaches are Pavones, Playa Jaco, Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa, Playa Avellanas, Playa Tamarindo and Playa Grande.
  6. Don't take an unofficial taxi; Only take official government licensed red taxis with the yellow triangle in Costa Rica, and insist that they use the meter.
  7. Eat a Copo; it is a Costa Rican shaved ice treat that you can get on nearly every beach. It’s
shaved ice with kola syrup, powdered milk and condensed milk.
  8. Ride a tram through the forest; The tram can take you through the forest up to beautiful views and it's a relaxing way of seeing nature.
  9. Do not tip; Tipping in restaurants in Costa Rica is not expected, and there is usually a 10% service charge included anyway.
  10. Walk through San Jose; As the capital city, there’s a lot of historical places and it’s a good way to get a sight of the Costa Rican city life.

My Experience:

  • Costa Rica is not only beautiful and full of adventure but it's also one of the happiest countries in the world, it's so pacific they actually got rid of their army. They have a lot of the greatest beaches in the world, large rainforests and a stunning wildlife. Aside from all of that, Costa Rica has five listed volcanoes which make the soil rich and full of life.
  • The best time to visit Costa Rica is from mid December to April, this is called the "dry season" and it's perfect because tourists can get to visit the rainforests and go to the beaches without having to face weather complications. But it's also very expensive and full of tourists around this season.
  • I had a lot of fun, the views were amazing and there was all types of people, the difference between Peru and Costa Rica is very noticeable, people were clearly living a satisfying life, I would return anytime, incredible experience.
